As far as booking and adding your inventory was a breeze. The only complaint I have is when you call the number to ask questions it seems nobody knows what’s going on. So I booked a flex delivery, three days. Everything was fine until I had to change the date due to closing on our house changed. They changed the date but when I called to confirm who was doing the moving etc it was like that was operationals department . Ok fine I get that but nobody calls you back. Very frustrating not knowing who or what day they’ll be coming to move you. Communication could use some sprucing up. I didn’t get the call until late that our movers coming the next day. Now on to the movers. I can’t praise them enough. Went well beyond the call of duty. Top notch and would definitely recommend them and I will be calling them if I ever need to be moved.

FAQ About Charlotte Movers

How Much Will a Charlotte Move Cost Me?

A Charlotte move can cost you anywhere from $330 to $9150 and beyond. It all comes down to how much you’re moving, and how far you’re traveling.

Keep in mind, local movers charge per mover, per hour (with about 2 movers per room), and long distance movers charge by weight (or volume) and miles.

Do Most Movers Provide Storage?

Some movers provide storage units, but not all of them. It’s always a good idea to shop around for a moving company that can provide all the services you’ll need.

Fortunately, iMoving’s marketplace lets you see what’s on the menu with each mover, including secure storage options.

What’s the Best Time of Year to Move to Charlotte?

Charlotte may have decent weather sometimes, but we always recommend a mid-month, mid-week move, in any season but the summer.

Take a word of advice from the iMoving pros: Avoid a June, July, or August move if possible. It’s the most expensive time to move, and it’s usually WAY too hot for hauling boxes.

Do I Need Moving Insurance?

It's always a good idea to get insurance, and in the interest of being responsible, we're not going to tell you to skip it.

However, if you're feeling risky and you're only moving a couple blocks (without anything fragile thrown in the mix), you may be able to get away with the basic coverage offered by your movers.

How Can I Tell if a Mover is Legit?

Movers need to have an official Department of Transportation (DOT) number, which you should be able to find on their website.

If a moving company handles long distance moves that cross state lines, they'll also need a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) number.

Don't forget to check reviews and look for any insurance info they may feature on their website.

Are people still moving to Charlotte?

Yes, Charlotte continues to attract new residents due to its growing job market, affordable living, and vibrant cultural scene.

What is the average cost of local movers?

Local movers in Charlotte typically charge between $110 to $140 per hour. The final cost depends on the size of the move, the number of movers required, and any additional services like packing.

What do movers move first?

Movers generally move large, heavy items like furniture and appliances first, followed by boxes and smaller items. This ensures that bulky items are safely loaded and secured in the truck.

Is it worth moving to Charlotte, NC?

Moving to Charlotte is worth it for many, thanks to its affordable cost of living, growing job market, and high quality of life. However, be prepared for traffic congestion and rapid growth.

What are the cons of living in Charlotte, NC?

The cons of living in Charlotte include increasing traffic congestion, hot and humid summers, and urban sprawl. Rapid growth has also led to rising housing costs in some areas.

What side of Charlotte is best to live on?

South Charlotte is considered one of the best areas to live, known for its great schools, shopping, and suburban feel. Neighborhoods like Ballantyne and SouthPark are popular choices for families.

Is it better to rent or buy in Charlotte, NC?

Whether to rent or buy depends on your financial situation. Buying is often a good long-term investment in Charlotte due to rising home values, but renting offers flexibility for newcomers or short-term residents.

How much money do you need to live in Charlotte?

To live comfortably in Charlotte, a single person typically needs an annual income of around $51,000 to $62,000, which covers rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and other essential living costs.
